Our story began in 2016 at an engineering party (the way all good stories do) at the University of Colorado Boulder! We instantly connected over our shared love for sports, skiing, and the outdoors. The night ended with Anne saying, "so aren't you going to ask for my number?" Our first date was supposed to be dinner at the Sink, but a rogue ice storm meant Sam (wisely wearing Vans in December) fell down every time he tried to walk up the Hill! So, we instead opted for a study session at Anne's sorority house, preparing for a biochemistry exam. This led to many other study dates until we both graduated with degrees in chemical engineering in 2018.
The next few years involved many moves and changes as Sam moved to Washington, D.C., to work at the National Institutes of Health, while Anne worked in Denver at DaVita. Anne later moved to Boston for law school, and Sam started medical school in D.C. Four years of long distance finally ended 2023 when Anne moved to D.C. to start her law practice. We love living in downtown D.C. and take every chance we can to play tennis, golf, hike, and explore the food scene with our D.C. friends.
